STEVE ANDERSON

PRESIDENT & DIRECTOR OF POSSIBILITIES

Steve and his bride of 37 years, Kathy Jo, purchased Workamper News in 2005. Prior to owning Workamper News, Steve was the HR Director at Adventureland Amusement Park in Altoona, IA. During his 15-year tenure he developed one of the larger, more successful Workamper programs in the U.S. Over the past ten years, Steve has developed numerous new programs and continues to be an advocate for education, which stems from his seven years of teaching high school right out of college. Some of the latest developments from Steve are the Dreamer's Journey and the Small Biz RVer Program. Steve & Kathy Jo are co-owners with Terry & Evada Cooper of the Texan RV Park & Campus. They are also owners/board members of the National RV Training Academy and the Big Red School House in Athens, TX. Steve and Kathy Jo traveled across America in their motorhome over three years promoting RV maintenance education, RV inspections, and Workamping.

Jody is the Executive Director of Workamper News, and is the daughter of Steve & Kathy Jo. She is in charge of creating Workamper News magazine, along with other media. She also oversees website design, operations, marketing, helps curate events and new resources, hosts webinars, and more. The best part of her job is interacting with Workampers (and future Workampers) like you! Jody and her husband, Luke, fulltimed in a fifth wheel for four years (with 4 cats) and now part-time with a Class C motorhome (with 3 cats). They have done a few loops around central and west U.S., and one trip to Alaska. "Mountains, please." is their motto.

Cooper has been called “America’s RV Expert.” He is Managing Director of the National RV Training Academy as well as its founder and original teacher. Better-known as the Texas RV Professor, Cooper brings to the table not only his experience from years of teaching RV tech at Texas State Technical College in Waco and intervening years conducting mobile RV Tech courses throughout the country, but also of years managing RV service departments. The Big Red Schoolhouse and Community Center, the new home base of the NRVTA, was Cooper’s vision. Cooper is a Master Certified RV Technician and a Professional Technical Trainer. He is the recipient of the National Scholastic Achievement Award from RVIA (Recreational Vehicle Industry Association). He is president of the National RV Inspectors Association. Cooper and his wife, Evada, are also co-owners, with Steve & Kathy Jo, of the Texan RV Park & Campus.

Evada Cooper is the Office Administrator for the National RV Training Academy - oversees billing, invoicing and acts a Student Advisor. Co-Owner of the Texan RV Park – lives on-site working in the day-to-day operations. Also known as, “Lady E Cooper”, she provides educational seminars at rallies, RV shows and other venues on ‘RV Kitchens – How does it all work.’ A past restaurant owner of 15 years - a fulltime RV for over 10 years – married to Terry Cooper – mother of 2 grown daughters - Stephanie and Gina.

Stephanie Henson is part of the dynamic duo most commonly known as Two Beards and a Babe (YouTube channel they launched in March 2018 to feature the renovation of their 1978 Airstream and their giant schnauzer Xena, the second beard). Recently, the Hensons purchased their new-to-them 2016 Grand Design Momentum 397TH ‘home on the road.’ The Hensons' main passion is helping RVers and those who dream of RVing. For the past several years, the Hensons have been heavily involved in the creation and success of the National RV Inspectors Association and National RV Training Academy. As Director of the NRVIA, Stephanie helps prospective buyers and current owners learn to better maintain their rig and know how to handle common issues all RVers will encounter. As co-owners of Road Life Project LLC, the Hensons are providing the RVing community with a resource that blends both the excitement of RVing as a way of life as well as the much-needed community aspect to living on the road.

Levi and Natalie Henley Workamp around the country in their 26-foot motorhome with two cats. They have been on the road and making a living Workamping since 2014 with no plans to stop soon. They are always browsing Workamper News for fun, unique jobs that take them places they would like to see. Along with writing for RV magazines, they recently published their first book together, Seasonal Workamping for a Living: How We Did It. They share their experiences and RV-related tips on their own blog henleyshappytrails.com as well as videos on their YouTube Channel, also called Henley's Happy Trails.

Dennis and his wife, Tracie, have been instructors involved in the shooting sports industry for several years, instructing multiple firearms classes, as well as one-on-one pistol training, and teaching the Illinois Concealed Carry Handgun Course. Tracie enjoys teaching the importance of self awareness and personal security by being aware of your surroundings at all times.  She provides instruction for those that don’t want to be the next “easy” victim.  Tracie’s goal is to help educate, empower and equip women (and men) that wish to become confident and competent in their ability to protect themselves and their loved ones by providing instruction in a safe and encouraging environment. Dennis has had hundreds of hours of formal defensive handgun and emergency training as a student. Dennis continues to study and enhance his knowledge and skills from some of the top leaders in firearms instructors in the country. The couple is looking forward to transitioning their passion of instructing to the full-time RV lifestyle in the coming years, as well as take on some more typical Workamping jobs.

After 41 years in Insurance Management & Sales and 38 years in the Banking Industry, Mike & Betty Gill were introduced to the world of Workamping by a personal friend that suggested they attend the 2014 Workamper Rendezvous. This event “rocked” their world! Following the Rendezvous, Mike retired, Betty had already retired, and they hit the road and have not looked back! Since being on the road, they have Workamped at campground as well as Dollywood Theme Park, doing things like maintenance, office/store, chef, and hostess. Mike has completed RV maintenance training with the NRVTA and is an NRVIA Certified Inspector. Recently, they were named Coaches for the RVing Lifestyle Ambassador Program and have the privilege of representing Workamper News and NRVTA as they travel and attend RV shows across America! Their motto for life: Love life, life will love you back!

She is also a Top Contributor for the Google Photos Forum.  Jim is the Prime Geek and loves to learn, especially new technology. Jim keeps all their technology in order and is the producer, director, engineer, camera and sound man for their weekly webcast, “What Does This Button Do?”

Susie is a Texas licensed attorney, having been licensed for 36 years.  She is a partner at Loring & Associates located in Livingston, TX.  They cater to the full-time RVing world as their office is in the headquarters of Escapees RV Club.  Therefore, they understand the lifestyle and special concerns of full-time RVers including creating domiciles, creating estate plans, creating corporate structures, and even dealing with defective products and Texas lemon laws. As a recovering litigator, she has experience in civil litigation, immigration and employment law.

Sean and Julie are a couple of perpetual travelers who have been living and traveling full-time in their fifth wheel since 2014. After serving 20 years in the US Air Force, they knew they wanted to keep moving and experience even more of this beautiful nation. She enjoys serving at her church and being a part of the CALL (fostering and adoption organization), reading, lifting weights, running, hanging out on the beautiful Greers Ferry Lake, and traveling.

Outside the office: She has 3 children and 5 grandchildren. She was born in Heber Springs, Arkansas and has lived in the area her whole life. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren. Now that she's an empty-nester, she is enjoying new hobbies such as painting and making decals & shirts for family & friends.

Dana has been with Workamper News since 2016 and is our Director of Administration. She is also the administrator over the RVing Lifestyle Ambassador Program. If you have any questions about becoming an RVing Lifestyle Ambassador, she is the woman to talk to! Dana lives with her husband, Richard, and her great nephew, Cayd, here in Heber Springs. She grew up here and moved away to Mississippi for awhile and raised her son and daughter, but has since returned to our beautiful Natural State. She is raising her great nephew, Cayd, and you can find them at the sports complex cheering Cayd on in all the games he plays throughout the year or at the race track watching Richard drag race. In her down time, she loves to fish along the beautiful Little Red River here in Heber Springs. You might even find her out camping and turkey hunting!
