Smartphone Photography and MorePresented by: Chris and Jim Guld, The Geeks on Tour
For people with iPhones/iPads or Android phones and tablets – from beginners to advanced, everyone learns something in this class. If you’ve never taken a selfie, or figured out how turn your flash on or off – not to worry, that’s where we’ll start. The class is hands on. You need to bring your phone or tablet as we will have you exploring and experimenting with all its camera-related features.
Like learning to swim by jumping into the deep end, you will have assignments and you will need to discover the way your device works to accomplish them. In your pocket you have one of the most sophisticated cameras ever developed, it can do things that Ansel Adams never even dreamed of! Just a tap on the HDR button produces results that took hours of preparation in Ansel’s day. Don’t know what HDR is? We’ll teach you! Want to show that masterpiece to friends and family around the world? It’s a simple click on the Share button. Automatically backup all your pictures for safekeeping by using the free Google Photos app. Never worry about losing your phone again.
The camera in your phone also does more than take photographs – it can file receipts and save them for Tax day, it can scan QR codes, and deposit checks. That’s why we call the class “and More” rather than just photography – we will show you some of these other uses.
Space is limited to 20 people. Registration here on the website instead of at the event is advised. We may add an identical session on Monday if enough folks are interested.

Full-Time RVing Fears and Myths DebunkedPresented by: Levi & Natalie Henley - Henley's Happy Trails
Marie Curie wrote, "Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less."
Anyone who has ever contemplated full-time RVing has played the question game. How am I going to fund my travels? What if something breaks down? What if I end up stranded somewhere? What if I get really sick? How do I know if where I'm staying is safe? Will I make friends on the road or am I forcing myself into a hermit lifestyle? What if my spouse and I can't stand being in close quarters? Can I do this with pets? What about tornadoes and other extreme weather while traveling? The list goes on.
In this 4-hour interactive seminar, including a question and answer session, Natalie and Levi will take you through a number of possible fears and misconceptions that cross the minds of many Dreamers and current full-time RVers. They will walk you through solving a number of worrisome scenarios to the point where you can confidently take on any situation as it comes.
Participants will receive handouts of the presentation outline including (a) our crisis management form which details the method we like to use to calmly get us through issues when they happen and (b) a comprehensive list of sources to turn to in time of need and clarification. Our aim is to present tools that will ultimately allow you to turn a fear you want to run from into a problem that you can solve.

RV WeighingPresented by: RVSEF Weighing Team
Why is it important to have your RV weighed?
- Get the maximum life out of your tires, axles, and suspension.
- Have the best handling capabilities of your RV.
- Prevent catastrophic damage.
- Get wheel by wheel weights, this way you can assure you are not carrying more weight than your axles (or tires) can handle. This also allows you to know what the proper tire inflations are that you should be running.
- Have peace of mind, knowing your going down the road safely!
RVSEF is dedicated to providing professional and objective RV education with a focus on consumer safety and lifestyle enhancement.
We want you to be safe as you travel down the road, that’s why we have dedicated teams ready to help! These teams are RVSEF trained Safety Specialists, who have been trained in the proper procedures of weighing an RV in accordance RVSEF standards. RVSEF has been weighing RVs since 1993 and is the innovator of the RV Weighing process and still the only RV Industry recognized weighing program.
We try to make this process as simple and painless as possible:
- We will have you fill a homework sheet. This helps to get you familiar with where to find the important numbers regarding your weight and tires.
- Set an appointment to get weighed! (We keep appointments to make sure we don’t make people wait too long). Usually we schedule for when you are leaving, or arriving, so you don’t have to pack up twice.
- Arrive at designated, non-congested area to be weighed.
- We will place 4 portable DOT scales in front of your tires, and have you drive up on them, to provide wheel by wheel weights.
- We write down the numbers, and go over them with you right then and there.
- You will get a formal report in the mail showing all your weights, along with tire inflation charts for your specific tires. Also you will get the phone number of the Executive Director to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
- Drive safely!!
TBD: Likely on Friday or Saturday
Weighing sessions typically take place as attendees leave their campground.
RVSEF will handle RV weighing service requests during the week of Rendezvous.
They can weigh a motorhome, a motorhome with towed car, a fifth wheel attached to a truck, or a travel trailer attached to a tow vehicle.
The cost of the weighing service is based on your RV type.
